On the Record: Ari at Six

Several years ago I started a tradition of interviewing the kids on their birthdays. By asking the children the same questions every year, we'll be able to see how their personalities and interests change (or stay the same).

Ari has just turned SIX and this is his fourth birthday interview.

What are you going to be when you grow up?
An inventor and a shopkeeper. Selling STUFF!

What’s that going to be like?
Piece of cake. Piece of cake means it's easy. Cuz I'll get lots and lots of money!

What are your favorite toys?
The drones cuz they have spy cameras and it goes really high.

What is your favorite food?
I do not have a favorite food.

Who are your best friends?
Mr. Riker and Mr. Edward and Mrs. Mama, Mr. Daddy...and everyone I know.

What makes you happy?
Your face, mama's face.

What makes you sad?
My brother hitting me.

When you dream at night, what do you dream about?
Mama giving me two hundred drones. Like I'm sitting in a pile of drones.

What do you like to do with Daddy?
Walk in the woods.

What do you like to do with Mama?
Hug, kiss, cuddle her because I love her so much.

What’s your favorite color?
Blue.

What does Daddy do during the day?
Sit on his laptop. For like an hour or so, two hours, probably more.

What does Mama do during the day?
Do everything for the whole entire family.

What do you do during the day?
Build Lego sets.

What do you want to learn or do before you turn seven?
Sums. Like in math, that kind.
