Where Do Playgrounds Come From?

As if to prove my hunch that I have a collection of really awesome friends, my friend Alison of The Cashews wrote a song called "Where do playgrounds come from?" and brought a choir of 300 people together to record it to benefit the new Boundless playground. Boundless Canberra is the name given to The National Children’s Playground Project which will see an all-abilities playground built on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in the ACT. And as you'll see in the video, she did it all with a wee bubba on her back.

If that weren't awesome enough, Riker and his friends Imogen, Freya, Ariella and Benedict have also made their debut music video appearance! (Hint: if like me, you didn't spot Riker the first time around, he's wearing red and needed a haircut!)

Where do playgrounds come from?
Do they come from the sea? Do they float down the Murrumbidgee?
Do they fall from the trees? Do they sprout up from a seed?
Do they blow in on the breeze? Are they built by thousands of worker bees?
Nah, each time we add our bit this playground grows by small degrees!

How awesome is that?

As mentioned, this reminds me that I'm surrounded by so many amazing and inspiring people. So to all of you singing, writing, teaching, healing, counselling, coaching, researching, photographing, crafting, creating, performing, planting, nurturing and otherwise sharing your talents near and far, thanks for making the world a better place!
