Fleeting

Peach fuzz hair.  Chubby cheeks.  A crease in the eyelid.  The divot under the nose.  Soft pink lips.  Sausage wrists.  Knuckle dimples.  Today while my sweet boy slept against my chest,  I tried to commit all of him to my memory.  Soft breathing, quiet snuffles, limp arms.  Like the sweet smell of a newborn, I know these details will fade with time, but I hope to always remember the joy of quiet moments shared with my babies.  How I wish they could stay so small and beautiful forever, but how I love to watch them change and grow.

Thanks to the Birth Centre

One of the things I loved upon first seeing the Birth Centre back in 2009 was that the walls were covered with thank you notes and photos of pregnant mamas, proud parents and adorable babies.  I've just managed to get around to adding my own to the collection.

The text reads:

Our gratitude and deepest appreciation to Natasha, Helen and Janette for your support throughout our two pregnancies and for your loving presence at the births of our two beautiful boys, Riker Donald (29-10-09) and Ari Jaden (26-09-11).  You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Puddles

What fun is a rainy day without a good splash in the puddles?

And how good are toddler bicycles with long arm handles for the parents?
